We often take the simple act of turning on a tap for granted. But for many rural and underserved communities, access to safe, clean drinking water is a daily struggle. Water is a fundamental human right—it is the foundation of health, hygiene, and community growth. Through the CLI Foundation’s Clean Water Project, we are working tirelessly to bring reliable, safe water to the communities that need it most.

Moving Beyond Short-Term Fixes

At CLIF, one of our core guiding principles is Sustainability. While emergency relief is vital in times of crisis, our ultimate goal is to build permanent solutions. Delivering bottled water can save lives today, but building a community well sustains lives for generations.

Building water infrastructure takes significant resources, which is why absolute transparency is critical to our mission. We track every dollar donated to our Clean Water Project and share regular updates so our donors can see exactly how their contributions are being transformed into physical, life-changing infrastructure.

Here is how our grassroots teams are creating lasting impact on the ground:

  • Needs-Based Infrastructure: We don’t guess what a community needs. Our Outreach Coordinators work directly with local leaders to design and fund clean water systems tailored to the specific geography and population of the area.

  • Protecting Local Health: Contaminated water is a leading cause of preventable illness. By providing a safe water source, we drastically reduce waterborne diseases, working hand-in-hand with our Care for All medical camps to improve overall community well-being.

  • Reclaiming Time: In many rural areas, women and children spend hours every day walking miles to fetch water. When a clean water system is built locally, that time is reclaimed. Children can return to school, and adults can invest their time in local trades and agriculture.
